Nostalgic design
Designed by Angela Gidden, Caerdydd Raw is an armchair and sofa that pretty much sums up the past styles and nostalgia that we get so excited about.  Imagine travelling the world, coming home, kicking off those worn shoes and sinking into a beloved armchair. That’s how comfortable and nesting the Caerdydd Raw experience is and it will just get better with age and more loving.

No two the same
Artistically and lovingly handmade to order, we use random off-cuts of fabric underneath the cushions creating a sense of reveal and surprise. Each piece we make is cut differently to the next using raw edges, holes, scars and blemishes creating individuality each time – no two cows are the same shape, same size and same marks and with our creativity no two chairs or sofas are the same. And as for our hide waste, well we just keep trying to achieve zero waste by designing and making smaller and smaller belongings – it’s our Russian doll concept.

Lovingly handmade
to order using three pairs of hands and the best materials we can find. The frames are made from solid hardwood sourced from sustainable managed forests. The cosy comfy cushion is filled with duck feathers. The legs are made from solid oak and we make no apologies for the knots – they’re carefully selected for character. And then there’s our gorgeous character rich hide waxed for a natural finish. To make the Caerdydd Raw so special the only other things we need are some artistic license and little customer faith.
